Opening times

Access Update: Unfortunately Our Lift has broken down, awaiting emergency repair. Therefore there is no stair-free access to upper floors, including toilets. A temporary accessible toilet is available at ground level. We are working to rectify this as soon as possible.

*Universal Credit recipients, full-time students, people aged 5-16, people aged over 65, and people with a disability (please bring proof of entitlement). 1 Free carer ticket available for persons with a disability.

 

Access to the Eastbury Kitchen, courtyard andfront lawns are free of charge.

 

National Trust Members may be charged for talks, workshops and special events. Visit the National Trust website for further information about National Trust Membership.

London Underground: Upney (District line)

We are approximately a 7-minute walk from Upney Underground Station. 

London Overground: Barking (Gospel Oak to Barking line) 

We are approximately a 20-minute walk from Barking. Alternatively, you can change to the District line for one stop to Upney.

National Rail C2C Line: Barking (Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Grays or Basildon)

Bus: 62, 287, 368

BicycleEastbury has limited bicycle parking. 

Driving: Eastbury is located just off the A13 and A406 routes.

Parking: No on-site parking available. Midweek limited pay-by-phone parking on the surrounding streets, restrictions apply. Weekend free parking on surrounding streets.

Blue Badge Parking: 2x blue badge parking spaces on pavement by the main driveway gates.

Coach: coach drop off and pick up only as parking is restricted. Coaches should park in designated parking sites located in the centre of Barking.

Facilities

Toilets: all toilets including the accessible toilet and baby changing facilities are located on the first floor. 

Lockers: are available on the second floor if you wish to store your belongings while you visit the house.

Free wifi: is available throughout the house for use on individual devices and laptops. Terms and conditions apply following registration. Please speak to the Front of House staff upon arrival for further information.

Access

We welcome visitors with access requirements, including those with assistance dogs.

Eastbury Manor House is fully wheelchair accessible, the upper floors of the house can be reached via a lift. Please note that the lift is reserved for visitors with acccess requirements and their carers. Unfortunately the lift is not available for push-chairs or any other unspecified use. Occasionally we may limit the number of wheelchair users who can access the second floor at anyone time. The ground and first floors are fully accessable.

Our staff will do everything to ensure that you enjoy your visit. Please contact us in advance of your visit should you wish to discuss any specific access requirements.

We welcome children, young people and families to explore and discover our house and gardens.

Monthly Sunday events for all the family, including craft activities, trails and tours.

Pushchairs and strollers can be left at a buggy park on the ground floor at your own risk. Baby changing facilities are available on the first floor. 

 

Guided tours

Explore the house and its historic rooms with guided tours led by Eastbury's volunteers. Learn about the history of the manor house, its different owners and how it has been used over six centuries. Uncover its unique architectural features and discover its hidden secrets.

Tours are subject to availability. Please contact us in advance to confirm. Tours last approximately 1 hour and are free during your visit. 

Candlelit tours
During the Winter explore the house and its historic rooms by candlelight in this atmospheric guided tour led by a costumed Eastbury volunteer. Booking is essential, for further information and details please visit What’s On

Group tours
We welcome group visits (minimum 15 people per group). 

We offer private group tours all year round. Booking in advance is essential. Groups tours start at £6 per person and go to £10 per person (costumed tour).

Entry is free. Serves freshly prepared hot and cold lunches, selection of homemade pastries, cakes, scones and refreshments.

All our food is freshly prepared and where possible we support local suppliers and use locally sourced ingredients.
